Monument to the Heroes of the Ghetto
Pomnik Bohaterow Getta, Ghetto Heroes Monument
Poland, Warsaw
During the Second World War, the Warsaw Ghetto was the largest in Europe. Jews from all Polish cities were exiled here, and then transported to the death camp - "Treblinka". During the Warsaw uprising of Jewish militias in 1943, the ghetto area was completely destroyed by the Germans. In honor of the memory of the Jewish fighters who died for the liberation of Poland, a memorial was erected on the square, which received the name - "Ghetto Heroes Square".
