One of the most interesting renaissance houses in Legnica - my favorite house in Poland. It is located on the corner of the Market Square (Maly Rynok, 38) and immediately attracts the attention of travelers with its painted facade: the whole house and even a semicircular bay window are covered with frescoes. By the way, it was the bay window that gave the name to this house, as it reminded someone of a quail's nest with its shape.

The house was built in the 16th century and covered with frescoes, but over time they were hidden under a layer of plaster, and only in 1909 such a treasure was discovered!

You can see that the facade of the house "At the Quail's Nest" is divided into five horizontal stripes, which depict deer hunting, the triumph of the goddess Ceres, characters from Aesop's fables. Found on the walls and imitations of columns and arches, floral ornaments. There is also a fresco of historical value, as on it an unknown artist painted a scene of the siege of Legnica by the enemy.
At the end of the 20th century, the building was renovated and transferred to exhibition halls. Now they showcase a collection of silverware. Downstairs there is always a small shop (for a long time - a flower shop, now - a sweet one). The top floor of the building belongs to private people, there are expensive apartments. One can only envy those who live in such a fabulous house in the best part of the city. Well, we can only admire and admire!
