Dragon's Cave or Dragon's Pit (Smoka) is a cave near the Wawel Hill, one of Krakow's famous landmarks. According to legends, the cave was once inhabited by a dragon, hence the name of the cave. Hike to the cave itself - a mysterious and exciting journey. Many centuries ago, limestone formed cavities and a network of tunnels in which ancient people lived in ancient times. Later, the cave has repeatedly become a refuge for the poor and homeless, and during the war a shelter for the townspeople. Steep stairs lead tourists to a depth of 15 meters, tunnels are only slightly illuminated by lanterns, and thin streams of water flow from the gloomy vaults.
