The Market Square Underground Museum was opened in 2010 and has been one of the most visited museums in Krakow ever since. This unusual labyrinth-museum is located at a depth of 4 m underground and is dedicated to the medieval history of the city. Here you can see untouched objects, remains of roads and architectural structures of medieval Krakow, as well as objects found during archaeological excavations at
Rynok Square. The museum uses modern multimedia and interactive technologies, many 3D models and layouts, as well as holographic films can be viewed on 37 touch screens. Here are ancient documents, jewelry, money, the remains of an ancient burial, models and holograms of the development of the Market, and much more. The museum also has a small gift shop and an underground cafe.
