The initiator of the monument was probably Stefan Reitan, one of the last members of the Reitan family. The monument was built between 1856 and 1859 at the Lilpop, Rau and Loewenstein factories in Warsaw. It was a gift to Krakow from the Reitan family in the late 1880s. The official unveiling of the monument took place in June 1890. A bust of T. Reytan by the little-known sculptor Theodore Zakrzewski has been installed in a cast-iron cast-iron chapel. It is clear that during the years of the communist regime and the government's dependence on the Soviet government, the monument to the man who fought for Poland's independence from Muscovy could not survive.→
