Museum of Polish Aviation
Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego, Polish Aviation Museum
Poland, Krakow
The Krakow Museum of Polish Aviation was created on the site of one of the oldest airfields in Europe, closed in 1963. The museum consists of a specially built main building, several hangars left from the airfield and a runway on which some of the aircraft are located.
The museum's exposition includes about 140 units of aircraft and helicopters, including modifications that were in service or used in passenger and transport aviation in various countries of the world. Also on display in the main pavilion are more than 20 Russian-made gliders. The Aircraft Engine Room houses one of the largest such collections in the world, with more than 100 examples. In the museum you can see some samples of aircraft weapons, navigational instruments, flight suits, photographs and posters on the aviation theme.
