Museum Pharmacy under the Eagle
Muzeum Apteka Pod Orlem, Ghetto Eagle Pharmacy Museum, Museum Pharmacy Under the Eagle
Poland, Krakow
Museum "Pharmacy under the Eagle" was opened in 2003 with sponsorship and is a branch of the Krakow Historical Museum. It is located in the building of the only pharmacy that operated in the Krakow ghetto. The pharmacy of the Polish pharmacist Tadeusz Pankiewicz, the only non-Jew who lived in the Jewish ghetto, was the only place where Jews were helped and underground activities were carried out. During the existence of the ghetto, Pan Tadeusz constantly risked saving the lives of Jews. The museum exhibition is dedicated to the significance of the pharmacy during the Nazi occupation of Krakow, the hard life in the ghetto and the help provided to the Jews by the pharmacist Tadeusz Pankiewicz.
