The Krakow Philharmonic named after Karol Szymanowski is a philharmonic society in Krakow. Founded in its current form in 1945, on February 3, 1945, the first concert of the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra took place. It bears the name of Karol Szymanowski since 1962.
The building of the Philharmonic was built in 1931 according to the project of Jozef Pokutyński and on the initiative of the Archbishop of Krakow Adam Stefan Sapieha as a social and religious center of the Catholic Church. The large concert hall in its current state is designed for 693 spectators.
