The huge church is the architectural dominant of the Podguze district. It was built in the neo-Romanesque style in 1905-1909 by architect Jan Sas-Zubzycki. Brick three-nave basilica with an elongated presbytery and transept. The central nave is significantly higher than the side ones. Adjacent to the church are two small chapels - the Nativity of Christ and the Crucified Christ. To the right of the presbytery is a rectangular difference, and to the left is another chapel with a separate entrance from the courtyard - the Chapel of Adoration. Adjacent to the passages are four more chapels - the Mother of God of Czestochowa, the Mother of God of Rozanka, St. Vincent Ferrer and St. Jude Thaddeus.

The exterior of the temple is characterized by a successful combination of dark red brick with light stone decor.
Gothic decorative richness attracts attention, many characteristic elements, such as decorative tops, arcade frieze on the side facades, buttresses surrounding the body, and abundant sculptural ornaments typical of the Gothic style.

The facade is framed by two quadrangular towers, built in a diamond-shaped pattern, so that their corners protrude slightly in front of the facade. At the top of the tower turn into an octagon and covered with spire-shaped domes surrounded by narrow peaks. Each tower has two narrow tall stone balconies with canopies, in which are sculptures of Saints Peter and Paul and Saints Bishops Stanislaus and Wojciech.

Between the towers are three arches resting on four columns, the upper parts of which are decorated with sculptures of Polish saints. Above the gallery of saints is a decorative openwork balustrade and a large stained glass window.
On the sides of the stained glass window are sculptures of Pope John Paul II (left) and St. Zygmunt Szczesna Felinski (right). The central tower of the temple at the intersection of the transept and the central nave is much higher than the side towers and is decorated with small towers.

In 1998, a memorial sign was erected on the territory of the church to the scouts of the sabotage detachment of the Home Army "Alicia", who died in battles with the occupiers and in the Gestapo torture chambers in 1943-1944.
