The Belzovska townhouse was built in the 16th century and was rebuilt in 1833 and 1910. In 1895, one of the oldest cafes in Krakow was opened here. It was founded by confectioner Jan Apollinari Michalik under the name Lviv Confectionery (Polish: Cukiernia Lwowska). Soon Krakow? They jokingly named the establishment "Mikhalik's Pit" because the confectionery was located in a long basement without windows, resembling a cave. Despite this, thanks to its delicacies, the candy store has become a favorite meeting place for students of the Academy of Arts, as well as artists, writers and actors.→
