It was built in 1904-1906 according to the project of architects Františ ek Monč ynski and Tadeusz Stryż eń ski to house the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Is one of the most interesting examples of early modernist architecture. Three-story, brick, with a corner tower with a clock, which is crowned by a pyramid with a globe. The entrance portal from Dluga Street is decorated with allegorical bas-reliefs of Trade and Industry by Konstantin Lyashchka. Above the portal is a sailboat with the emblem of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1905). Halls and stairs are decorated with stucco and stained glass, depicting symbols of technological progress: locomotive, telegraph pole, factory. They were designed by Franciszek Monczynski in the studio of Wladyslaw Ekilski and Antoni Tuc. In 1926-1928, the faç ade and interiors were restored under the direction of Jó zef Mehoffer. In 1950, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry was liquidated and the building was occupied by the district committee of the PURP.
In 1986-1990 the house was reconstructed. Now there is a literary publishing house. In 2006, the bookstore "Under the Globe" was opened on the ground floor.
