The Great Mlyn was erected by the Teutonic Knights in 1350. In 1391 it was partially burnt down. On February 4.1454, it was captured by the Gdansk, which belonged to the anti-Teutonic conspiracy (Prussian League), which initiated an uprising against the rule of the order. In a privilege granted in Elblą g, the Polish king Kazimierz Jagiellonchik gave the mill to the people of Gdań sk. The mill was powered by 18 water wheels. The mill was built on an artificial island (currently called Mill Island), created by a fork in the Raduniya Canal.→
