Armory Square is the main square of the city. It was founded, like Lima itself, in 1535. The area has a square shape, each side of which has a length of 140 meters. There is a beautiful fountain in the center of the square, and on the western side is the bright yellow Government Palace, which is its dominant. Also on the Armory Square are the Cathedral and the Presidential Palace.
