Royal Palace

Det Norske Kongehus
Norway, Oslo
The Royal Palace in Oslo, built in the neoclassical style in the middle of the 19th century, is the residence of the current king of Norway, Harald V. If the king is in the building, a gold-decorated royal flag flutters over the roof, if not, the flag of Crown Prince Haakon. The palace has 173 rooms. Every day at 13.30 Oslo residents and tourists can witness the solemn ceremony of changing the guard. During the summer, the palace is open to visitors.

The Royal Palace was built in the 18th century in a strictly classicist style and currently serves as the residence of the reigning King Harold. The entrance to the palace itself is only open during the summer for organized guided tours. Address: Slottsplassen 1 You will also be happy to stroll through the park, which is laid out around the palace and where Oslo residents themselves like to relax. And if you get to the palace at 13-30, you can watch the daily changing of the guard ceremony. By the way, both men and women can be members of the Norwegian Royal Guard.
