The Amsterdam Film Museum or, to be more precise, the EYE Film Institute, was formed as a result of the merger of several institutions associated with the film industry. The forerunner of the museum was the Dutch Historical Film Archive founded in 1946. In 1952, it was re-registered as the Museum of Cinema. Since 1972, the museum has been located in Vondelpark, and since 2012 it has moved to a new building on the banks of the River IJ. The total area of the building is 6.3 thousand square meters.→
