Magere Brug Bridge
Magere Brug, Skinny Bridge
Netherlands, Amsterdam
Magere Brug or the so-called "Skinny Bridge" since 1934 connects the banks of the Amstel River, and is one of the most significant sights of Amsterdam. The wooden structure of the bridge allows only pedestrians and cyclists to cross it. The bridge is raised several times a day to allow river traffic to pass through. In the evenings, Magere Brug is illuminated with 1200 light bulbs, making it a wonderful and romantic place to stroll.
