Westerkerk is a Calvinist church built in 1620-1631 according to the design of Hendrik de Keyser. Located on the banks of the Prinsengracht canal.
The spire of the church is the tallest church spire in Amsterdam, standing 85 meters high. It is crowned with a model of the crown of the Austrian Empire of Emperor Maximilian I. The church bells were cast by Pierre and François Hemony. The doors of the organ were painted by Gerard de Leresse. Rembrandt was buried in the church on October 8, 1669.
