The building of Sultan Abdul Samad is located in front of Independence Square. It is named after Sultan Abdul Samad, who ruled Selangor at the time construction began.
Construction was started by the British in 1894 and completed 3 years later. The building was built in the Moorish style with onion-shaped copper domes. In the center of the building are two towers with spiral staircases and a large clock tower. Its height is 43 meters.
Initially, the building was the British Administrative Center, then the Supreme Court of Malaysia was located here. Now this historic building houses the Ministry of Culture of Malaysia. Currently, various events are held against the backdrop of the building of Sultan Abdul Samad, such as the parade on August 31 - (National Day), New Year, various carnivals.
