Kuala Lumpur Railway Station
Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, Kuala Lumpur Old Railway Station, KL Train Station, Stesen Keretapi Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur
The old railway station in Kuala Lumpur is an architectural monument of the colonial era. Its graceful Moorish-style building appeared in 1910 in the center of Kuala Lumpur and immediately became the largest transport hub in Malaysia at that time. The station was built by the famous English architect Arthur Hubback. In 1986, a reconstruction was carried out: modern waiting rooms equipped with air conditioning, bars and information desks for tourists appeared here. In 2007, the Railway Transport Museum was opened at the station - its expositions are located in the main hall and on one of the station platforms. On the territory of the old station there is also a former station hotel, which today has turned into the original historical hotel The Heritage Station Hotel 2 *.
Now, after the appearance of the new station KL Sentral, the old station sends only suburban trains (KTM Komuter).
