Independence Square
Merdeka Square, Dataran Merdeka, Merdeka Square
Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur
Independence Square is a symbol of Malaysian independence, since it was here in 1957 that the national Malaysian flag flew into the sky on a 100-meter flagpole. In addition, this is the last place in the city where the colonial buildings left after the British were preserved. All of them are created in the traditional Moorish style by architect A. K. Norman. These buildings are the Department of Information, the City Council, the Main Post Office.
