Manoel Theater
Malta, Valletta
The Manoel Theater was built in 1731 during the reign of Grand Master Manoel de Vilchen. Having established the theater, the Grand Master took care of the aesthetic education and worthy rest of the knights after righteous labors for the benefit of the Order. In 1866 the building was sold to a private person and the Royal Opera House was opened here.
The theater building was badly damaged during the Second World War and was completely reconstructed in 1960. The unique acoustic properties of his hall have received worldwide recognition.
