sacred hospital
Sacra Infermeria
Malta, Valletta
The Knights of St. John built hospitals everywhere, where not only the knights themselves, but also poor, homeless people, regardless of their religion, received medical assistance. This building, built in the 1670s, houses the longest hospital ward in the world - 161 meters long. Later, a stable was located here.
In 1979 the building was restored. A conference hall and the attraction "Malta" were opened here - a multimedia presentation on the history of Malta from the Neolithic to the present day.
