Underwater statue of Jesus Christ
Underwater statue of Jesus Christ
Malta, San Paula Bay
The statue of Jesus Christ stands underwater near the islands of St. Paul. Periodically overgrown with algae and frightens passing divers. The statue was drowned here in honor of Pope John Paul II's visit to Malta in 1990. Initially, they put it on a site next to fishing farms, but then they moved it: visibility in these places was very poor.
