Temple Complex Skorba
Temple of Sorrow, Skorba Temples
Malta, Mgarr
The Temple Complex of Skorba is a megalithic ruin at the northern tip of the Zebbie region, giving an idea of the earliest period of the local Neolithic culture. The excavations of Sorrow took place only in the early 1960s, relatively late compared to other megalithic temples in Malta, some of which have been studied since the beginning of the 19th century. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the megalithic temples of Malta.
The temple is poorly preserved, especially when compared with the likes of Hajar Qim and Tarxien. On the other hand, the finds made in the vicinity of Skorba are extremely important.
