Popeye Village
Popeye Village
Malta, Mellieha
Popeye Village is a group of wooden buildings in Anchor Bay near Mellieha. It was originally built for the filming of the musical Popeye in the 1980s, then it began to serve as a landmark and entertainment complex.
The village is open to the public daily. In addition to the actual houses built for the filming of the film, there are a number of entertainments, such as a show, a museum, and playrooms for children. Some of the houses contain furnishings from the time of filming that are relevant to the film. Twenty-minute cruises around the bay are held hourly in good weather.
