The main attraction of the small town of Mosta, which is located in the center of the island of Malta, is the local cathedral - the Rotunda of the Assumption of the Virgin, whose dome (37 m in diameter) is the third largest in Europe and the ninth in the world. During the German bombardment on April 9, 1942, a bomb hit the cathedral, but did not explode.
