Master Vilhen's Palace
Vilhena Palace
Malta, Mdina
Master Vilhen's Palace is located near the Main Gate. The building was built in the XVIII century. Subsequently, the building was used as a hospital. Now it houses the Museum of History and Local Lore, the exposition of which presents archaeological finds, household items and medieval antiquities.
Nearby is a descent into underground passages and dungeon cells under the palace. Wax figures represent the inhabitants and the "interior" of the prison of the Middle Ages: bloody torture, severed heads, punishment of prisoners, etc.
