Church of St. Mary
Santa Maria In Punta, Church of Santa Maria in Punta
Montenegro, Budva
The Church of St. Mary dates back to 840. Previously, there was a Benedictine monastery here, then everything passed into the hands of the Franciscans, but the church is the only surviving building.
On one of the walls you can see an inscription from the middle of the 9th century. It is believed that it was made by the very monks who founded the church. The inscription is considered the oldest on the eastern coast of the Adriatic.
