Church of St. Sava of Serbia
Church of St. Sava, St Sava's Church
Montenegro, Budva
Near the Church of the Holy Trinity, on a rock overlooking the sea, there is a small church of St. Savva. It is really quite tiny - only 3 by 5 meters. The exact time of the construction of the church is unknown, but it is mentioned in the time of the Nemanjićs. After the capture of Budva by the Venetians in 1550, Catholics reigned here. But since the Orthodox in Budva did not have their own church, in the church of St. Savvas served both Catholics and Orthodox. During the Austrian occupation, the church was used as a military warehouse. Now it does not work.
