Souss-Massa National Park
Souss-Massa National Park
Morocco, Agadir
Souss-Massa National Park was established in Morocco in 1991 and is located between Agadir and Tinzit. The park is notable for the fact that the last population of bald ibis lives here, there are no more of these birds on earth. Also, such rare birds as bustards, black-headed chagras, many species of larks, redstarts and others live here.
Souss-Massa National Park has become an important breeding ground for endangered bird species. Many of them come here for the winter from other countries. Rare animals such as antelopes also live here. Special reservations have been created in the park for ostriches.
The flora of the national park is also rich. Here grows, for example, a rare plant Chana mountain. The park serves several purposes. It allows you to save and restore some species of plants and animals, and is also a place for ecotourism.
