My husband and I went to the Dondra lighthouse in Matara. Very beautiful view at the foot of the lighthouse: palm trees, ocean, rocks, waves. It is interesting to climb up the spiral staircase inside the lighthouse itself. Upstairs, under a glass dome, it is very hot and stuffy. I strongly advise, if the hatch is open, to go outside at the very top of the lighthouse. The view is just amazing! From above you can see the coast of the island with palm trees and the power of the open ocean with raging waves! I've always been indifferent to lighthouses, but I really liked this one.→
