I fully subscribe! And Buddhism is especially close to me. Therefore, temples in Sri Lanka interested me very much. True, to visit them, a certain dress code was required, which was not always observed on vacation. However, we did get to see a couple. One is quite simple, something like our chapel. The second one is richer. The monk showed us, despite our inappropriate appearance. For which we left the temple 100 rupees. The Temple of the Tooth Relic was part of a tour purchased from a whip boy. It was very different from those two seen before. Very rich decor! And no wonder. As we were told, this is almost the most important temple for all Buddhists, not only in Sri Lanka, but throughout the world. But here you already need to be dressed properly. Pants don't go down to the knees.
Entrance costs 1.000 rupees, plus a tip for the tour guide, plus a tip for the shoe keeper. The guide, by the way, surprisingly, spoke good Russian and told quite a lot. It was interesting.
