The National Museum of Korea is the most visited museum in Asia. It was founded in 1945, and has been located in its current building, built of refractory materials in the form of an ancient Korean fortress, since 2005. The museum is dedicated to Korean history and art. Its collection contains more than 220 thousand exhibits, including paintings, sculptures, calligraphy samples, metal and ceramic products, and much more.
