Pugaksan Fortress is located on the mountain of the same name, located in the north of the city. The stone fortress was built during the Joseon Dynasty in the 14th century. Its walls protected the inhabitants of the city from enemy raids. Today, Bugaksan is one of Seoul's favorite tourist destinations, with great views of the park and the old city.
