The Gyeongbokgung Palace complex is located in the northern part of the city. It was built at the end of the 14th century during the reign of the Joseon Dynasty. The complex includes Geunjeongjeon Throne Room, Gyeonghoeru Pavilion,
National Folk Museum of Korea and National Palace Museum. Every day near the central gate of the complex there is a ceremony of changing the guard, which many tourists come to admire.
