Ta Prohm Temple is a unique religious building, once a rich and large temple, built in the middle of the 12th - early 13th centuries. by order of the Khmer king Jayavarman VII in honor of his mother. Ta Prohm gives the impression of a temple lost in the jungle, since it was only partially cleared of thickets and some of its walls and doorways are still overgrown and braided with roots and vines of mighty trees. Ta Prohm is deliberately left in this state - this makes it stand out from other
Temples of Angkor. This temple complex has a maze of courtyards and galleries and is rightfully included in the list of cultural heritage of Cambodia.
