The National Museum of Nature and Science is located in the east end of Ueno Park. It was opened in 1871. It consists of two buildings - the Global Gallery and the Japanese Gallery. The global gallery tells visitors about the evolution of life on our planet, as well as the development of science and technology. The Japanese Gallery tells about the history and development of life in the Japanese archipelago.
