Sunken ship Cedar Pride
Cedar Pride Wreck
Jordan, Aqaba
The most popular wreck spot off the coast of Aqaba is a sunken cargo ship that lies at depths of 10 to 28 meters. Once this ship sailed under the Greek flag and was named San Bruno. In the early 80s, a Lebanese company bought it and renamed it Cedar Pride. Later, the ship was given as a gift to the Prince of Jordan, who donated the gift to the divers who sank Cedar Pride 150 meters from the shore.
It is not difficult to see where the ship lies: a special buoy is installed above the water in this place. The vessel has long been overgrown with a thick layer of soft and hard corals, next to it you can see families of lionfish and angelfish, perches, barracudas and other marine life. Since the ship lies at a shallow depth, even novice divers are allowed to dive to it. However, the study of the interior of the vessel (which, by the way, is well preserved) is allowed only for scuba divers with an "advanced" certificate.
