St. Mark's Cathedral - the Cathedral of Venice (until 1807 the court chapel at the Doge's Palace), which is a rare example of Byzantine architecture in Western Europe. Located in St. Mark's Square, next to the Doge's Palace.

The cathedral, decorated with numerous Byzantine-style mosaics, is the location of the relics of the Apostle Mark and many valuable art objects taken from Constantinople during the Crusades. In 1987, the cathedral, among other Venetian monuments, was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Impressive
A visit to San Marco is included in the program of bus tours. Visit. My impressions of the cathedral can be described in one word - "rich". Check out the golden altar.→

Miracle of stone.
On my first visit to Venice, St. Mark's Basilica made an indelible impression on me. Mark, my favorite male name, and now St. Mark's has become one of my favorite places of worship in Europe. Its carved ladders and rounded domes organically crown the ensemble of Piazza San Marco. The visit to the Cathedral is free. You will be asked to leave your backpacks in the luggage room, and the ladies will be asked to cover their shoulders. Taking photos and videos is not allowed. We can freely examine the interior decoration of the cathedral, admire the abundance of gilding.→
