Palazzo Brioli and Clock Tower
Palazzo Brioli, Torre dell' Orologio
Italy, Rimini
Palazzo Brioli is a famous landmark of Rimini, part of the complex of buildings located on Tre Martiri Square, where Julius Caesar once delivered a legendary speech. Only a few columned porticos and a statue of Caesar himself remind of the ancient Roman forum today.
The Brioli Palace, located on the square, originally belonged to the Carampi family, then to the Baldinini family. In the middle of the 18th century, it housed a scientific observatory. Not far from the palace on the same square is the Clock Tower, built in 1562. A special feature of the tower is the "Perpetual Astrological Calendar" clock, created by D. Carini in 1750.
