The ancient Roman bridge of Tiberius was built in Rimini in 14-21 AD. e .: its construction began under the emperor Augustus, and ended under the emperor Tiberius. The bridge is a five-arch structure spanning the Marecchia River. In 580, it was practically destroyed by the Goths, and only in 1680, under Pope Innocent XI, it was restored. Since then, it has been successfully serving the inhabitants of Rimini, moreover, it is open not only for pedestrian traffic, but also for transport.
