Palace of the Palazzo del Podesta
Palazzo del Podesta
Italy, Rimini
Palazzo del Podesta is one of the palaces in Piazza Cavour in Rimini, built in the 1330s. It was intended for the podest - the elected ruler of the city, not connected by family ties with the ruling dynasties. The facade of the palace with five windows is decorated with the same teeth as the Palazzo del Arengo - "dovetails", which, in addition to the decorative load, also carried protective functions in defense against the enemy.
