The Arch of Septimius Severus, built in 205, is located in the
Roman Forum and is a three-span triumphal arch commemorating the victories of Emperor Septimius Severus over Parthia. The height of the entire structure is 20.9 m, width - 23.3 m. The building material is brick and travertine, but the surface is finished with marble. There are 4 halls in the attic, about 6 m high. The walls and the plinth are decorated with reliefs and inscriptions celebrating the victory of Septimius Severus and his two sons, Carakkala and Geta. Previously, the monument was decorated with the quadriga of the emperor and his sons, but the latter has not survived to this day.
