The grandeur of the cathedral cannot but delight. From the outside, it does not seem very large, but inside there is a feeling that you are in a huge cave, with its own microclimate. This is one of the most ingenious structures on the planet.

Any tourist who comes to Rome, sooner or later, no matter what religion he may be and whatever views he holds, will find himself in St. Peter's Square - an outpost of the Vatican city-state. And I will not talk now about the main attraction of the square - St. Peter's Cathedral, striking in its scale, architecture, interior, works of art that are stored there, and of course, the view of Rome, which opens from the observation deck at its top. I want to talk about St. Peter's Square as a place where you can see and listen to the Pope.

The three strongest emotions from the Cathedral. The first - from the awareness of the number of cultural and historical values per unit area. A sort of concentrated museum-like place... The second happened at the moment when the organ began to play and the service began. Goosebumps ran down her skin, and a lump rolled up in her throat. If at some point there is an awareness of a connection with something Higher, then I had just that. Therefore, try to get to the service - it gives a completely different perception of the place! And the third emotion is associated with the ascent to the dome of the Cathedral and the views from there.

If you come to Rome with a bus tour, visit the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. If you want to get there on your own, then on the square on the right you will see a queue, you go there. In the morning, probably by 8, the line is smaller. Or if you go to the Vatican Museums on your own, and after them visit the basilica. In any case, a visit is a must. I won't tell. where that, information on the cathedral of the sea. If everything is well inspected, then 1.5-2 hours is definitely necessary. It did not work out in the Vatican grottoes, and there was no desire.
