Pincio Park is located on the hillside above
Piazza del Popolo, on one of Rome's Pincio hills. In the days of ancient Rome, the hill, where today a small and cozy park is located, was a countryside vacation spot for the local nobility - there were luxurious gardens and luxurious villas. During the Renaissance, this place was also an attraction for aristocrats - next to the modern gardens of Pincio, there are now magnificent Villa Medici and
Villa Borghese.
In the 19th century The largest plot of land here was owned by the Pincho family, so it is not surprising that the Pincho family wanted to perpetuate itself in history and create a magnificent park. The project was implemented by the architect Giuseppe Valadier at the beginning of the 19th century. This is an amazing garden with centuries-old trees, pavilions, fountains, statues and busts of prominent people in Italy. The central alley is decorated with Andrian's obelisk. The world-famous Water Clock is located here. For the convenience of vacationers, there are many benches in the park. There are various cafes, bars and even a bicycle rental on its territory. The Pincio hill offers stunning views of Rome, which is why it is a popular viewing platform for the city.
