SquareTorre Argentina

Torre Argentina, Largo di Torre Argentina, Largo di Torre Argentina
Italy, Rome
Plaza Torre Argentina was created in 1909 on the site of urban residential buildings and a church. The square is named after the Strasbourg Tower (lat. Torre Argentina), located on one of its corners. Largo di Torre Argentina today is an archaeological site. The ruins at its center are the remains of four temples from the time of the Roman Republic and are part of the vast complex of Pompey, Rome's first amphitheater.

During the construction of the house in the 20s, the remains of four ancient Roman temples were discovered here. They date back to the times of Republican Rome. Among them was the temple of Fortuna, where there was a huge statue of the goddess of Fortune (the remains of this statue can be seen in the Capitoline Museums). Must visit.
