fori imperiali, The Imperial Fora
Italy, Rome
The Imperial Forums are a complex of architectural structures from the period of the early Roman Empire. Forums were erected from 46 BC. e. to 113 AD e. for the great Roman emperors Julius Caesar, Augustus and Trajan. At the end of the republican period, the Roman Forum became cramped for the performance of religious and political functions, and its expansion was required. Julius Caesar was the first to start the expansion by adding Caesar's forum. Later, following the pattern of Caesar's forum, the forums of Augustus, Nerva, Trajan, as well as the temple of Peace, appeared. Some of the imperial forums are buried under Via dei Fori Imperiali.

The Imperial Forums include several forums - Trajan, Augusta, Mira, Transistorium, as well as Trajan's markets, the Ulpian Basilica, the temple of Mars, and several other buildings of the medieval period. Entrance to them is paid, I recommend it for lovers of the history of ancient Rome, it is better with a guide. And if you walk along via Imperiali, you can see a lot anyway.
