Giuseppe Meazza Stadium
San Siro Stadium
Italy, Milan
The home arena of two giants of Italian football at once - Milan and Internazionale (or simply Inter). Located in the western part of Milan, the stadium has a long history dating back to 1926 when the grand opening of the sports complex took place. Over the following decades, the stadium was constantly expanded. The last global reconstruction was carried out in 1990. Initially, the stadium was named "San Siro" - after the name of the suburb in which it was built. However, in 1979, the arena was renamed in honor of the outstanding Italian football player, two-time world champion Giuseppe Meazza, who played at one time for both Inter and Milan. At the same time, the old name of the stadium - "San Siro" - is still used by the fans. Now "Giuseppe Meazza" can accommodate more than 80 thousand spectators. In addition to football matches, music concerts of famous performers are held here. It is noteworthy that the hippodrome is located on the territory of the stadium.
