Thermal Park of Castiglione
Parco Termale Castiglione
Italy, Ischia
The Thermal Park of Castiglione is located in a bay between the towns of Casamicciola and Ischia Porto, on the terraces of a mountain slope. This is one of the most beautiful parks of the island with a diverse thermal structure. The place has remained virtually unchanged since Baroness Maria Ursula von Storer fell in love with it back in 1934. Around the Mediterranean-style villa, completed in 1943, plots of land with vineyards and orchards have been preserved.
The park has 10 pools (open and closed): 8 pools with thermal water of different temperature conditions (30-40 degrees), an Olympic sea water pool, 2 natural saunas, a sports ground, a modern center for mud-balneotherapy, 2 restaurants, a boutique, small private beach and marina.
The Castiglione Park is fed by the thermal springs of the same name, drawing their waters from the hydro-thermomineral pool located in Casamicciola. The waters of these springs are light, transparent, slightly salty, reaching a temperature of 70 degrees; contain sulfates and alkaline bicarbonates, including sodium and magnesium bicarbonate. They are used for diseases of the genitourinary organs, as well as for fractures, dislocations and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
