The Medici villas Petraia and di Casello were built in the Middle Ages and bought by the Medici in the 16th century. Villas are surrounded by wonderful gardens, considered one of the best in Europe. If you are tired of queues and crowds of tourists, then go to the villas. It was in the days of the Medici was out of town, and now you can get there by city bus. Both villas are located next to each other - on foot about 20 minutes. They didn’t let us into the Villa de Castello itself, because there is some kind of educational institution, in my opinion, but you can see the park and it was free of charge (I don’t know now, check it out), the security guard let us through.→
